The Świętokrzyskie teams' members, coaches, young sports-people with hopes and the region's activists - on Friday evening a whole plethora of great guests called in Targi Kielce. This is the 66th time the province's residents choose the best athletes and sports-people of the previous year and award them with the Świętokrzyskie Sport Star title

Sport - everyone finds it thrilling and exciting.  It therefore comes as no surprise that the plebiscite organized by the Kielce media has become very popular.  Every year we confirm again and again that the Świętokrzyskie region abounds in sports talents. Young people are also eager to practise and make their dreams come true.

The young, the talented have been recognised by the plebiscite's jury panel and awarded the Sports Talents of the Region title.  The title has been presented to Maciej Zyza, a twelve-year-old kick-boxer who has already won the title of Polish Championship.  Maciej also boasts 3rd place at the World Championships.  Maciej Filipowicz is the plebiscite runner-up; Filipowicz is a handball player of the PGE VIVE Kielce's juniors team, a member of the national junior team.  Aleksandra Wryk, a 14-year-old athlete joined the fellowship dominated by men-winners of the Sports Talents title. Aleksandra won the bronze medal at the the Polish Juniors Championships.

The chapter also recognised the people who have been instrumental in shaping the Świętokrzyskie sports image.  The title of "Świętokrzyskie Sport Merits" was awarded to Bertus Servaas.  The PGE Vive Kielce president has been recognized for his many-year work, the yellow & blue team's results - the Champions League, Polish Championships and the Polish Cups medals.  Wojciech Makowski was pronounced the the Świętokrzyskie Region's ambassador.  The visually impaired sportsman was the silver Olympic medallist in 2016 and won three medals at the World Championships.  Although associated with the Warsaw's AWF on daily basis, he has never forgotten about his Świętokrzyskie roots.

The Jury Panel and voters honoured the Korna Kielce achievements.   Gino Lettieri is the coach of the year, the footballers team from the province's capital is the team of the year.   The Italian coach with great persistence formed the Korona Kielce team - this determination made the team reach the Polish Cup semi-finals.  The players were able to show how excellent they are - this was demonstrated in their victory over Legia Warsaw or Arka Gdynia.  The autumn round was definitely the time of Lettieri's players.

The most important moment of each Świętokrzyskie Sprts Stars Plebiscite is the Sports Person of the Year title is awarded.  You could feel the suspense that accompanied the poll and the votes were being counted until the last moment.  Daniel Adamiec took the third place - Adamiec  is Rushha Kielce boxer, Polish representative, the Polish Championships medallist and the World Olympic Boxing Confrontation participant.  He is also the Kielce's hope for Tokyo 2020.  Jacek Kiełb - a football player was the ranking's runner-up. He is one of the best snipers in the Kielce club's history.  A member of the yellow and red team made it possible to notch up the victory over the Legia Warsaw team.

The winner of the 66th Świętokrzyskie Sports Stars Plebiscite is Michał Jurecki.  The PGE Vive Kielce captain is a real gladiator.  very few come at par with Jurecki when it comes to in-game zeal and heart-felt beliving in the team's success.  Although the past year was not successful for him - injuries thwarted his sports plans, Jurecki deeply believes that there are trophies to win.

We would like to congratulate all the winners. We wish them further successes on pitches, in rings and on tracks.
