FIBROUS HEMPS FARM PRODUCTION DISCUSSED AT AGROTECH 2019

The first day of the jubilee, 25th edition of  Agrotech saw the Science and consultancy - agricultural practice conference.  The second of its panels focussed on “Fibrous hemps farm production”. In Poland 200 farmers use 600 hectares for fibrous hemps production.

Those interested were introduced the world’s history of fibrous hemps cultivation, they were also familiarised with the act which regulates hemps cultivation in Poland. The conference participants were also introduced to the Institute staturory activities. They also learnt how it happened that the Polish Institute became a global industry player.

What does the program offer to Polish farmers?

  • high-quality seeds from IWNIRZ proprietary varieties,
  • from sowing to harvest aid and assistance,
  • purchase of 100% of seed yield,
  • attractive prices and settlements terms,
  • help in selling off other crop elements (eg threshings),
  • assistance in making official applications,
  • knowledge partnering from IWNIRZ,
  • cooperation with the government research institutes.

The Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants   has established and implemented the  Hemp programme   as a practical appliaction of the highly-recognized industrial fibrous hemps strains developed and marketed by IWNIRZ. The programme objective is to develop Polish  agriculture through the popularisation of industrial hemps cultivation and internationalization of Poland's position. Poland is a global producer and exporter of high quality seed of Polish industrial hemps varieties.

All three varieties originate from the  Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants   . All three are monoecious hemps, high and stabilized degree.  These are the Central European forms thus the vegetation periods are adapted to Polish climatic and soil conditions. These are typically fibrous varieties which contain less than 0.2% of hallucinogenic substances (Δ9THC).

The Agricultural Advisory Centre in Radom was the meeting organiser.
