The great bicycle festival again held the sway in Kielce; the expo held from 21 to 23 September in Targi Kielce has again proved to be a great success. This year's exhibitors list included 250 firms from 12 countries such as: Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Finland, Netherlands, Germany, Pakistan, Poland, Slovakia, Taiwan, United Kingdom and Italy. The exhibition abounded with attractions for all bicycle lovers and cycling aficionados.
This year's event was a real presentation arena for the brand-new bike developments. Expo stand were the showcase for bikes, equipment and accessories. There were also exceptional bike models, including the gold-clad bicycle Vincenzo Nibali was riding on to notch the success at the royal stage of the Giro d'Italia.
In addition to the bike industry's latest developments, Kielce Bike-Expo was the stage for historic models. SPRINGS [The Springy] – i.e. the fans and collectors of antique bicycles from Radom presented unique exhibits, ranging from the pre-war Łucznik brands through the 80's two-wheelers as well as the replica of a high-wheeler.
The cycling industry holiday offered the conducive atmosphere to talk about the industry and cycling development. The agenda included the Meeting of the Sejm [Polish Lower Chamber of Parliament] Committee for Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism representatives with the members of the Polish Cycling Association and business-insiders. The problem-focussed meetings were also a good opportunity to present a new project, i.e. Lviv Bike Expo - a bicycle fair organized in Ukraine in 2018.
Substantial discussions were complemented with the attractions plethora for visitors. TRI BIKE EXPO's triathlon conference debuted at the fair, with the participation of actor Wes Wesowski. The session which features participants of extreme expeditions – Dorota Chojnowska, Valerian Romanowski, Mariusz Dorosz and Dariusz Dziewulski's daughter also gathered many guests. Following many-year traditions, the Kielce Bike-Expo Marathon 2017 brought together 800 participants, including 80 women and 20 children.
The best products put on show were granted medals and awards at the Bike Award gala ceremony. Also the best expo stands were recognised and other accolades presented, including: those from the Polish Cycling Association distinction, Grand Prix in the "Cyclists-Friendly Commune" and the velonews.pl portal awards. The Targi Kielce Management Board presented the jubilee statuette and a layer-cake to the Bike World Magazine, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
