An introduction to the Polish fruit and vegetable market

With an 5-11% share in European production, Poland counts as one of the biggest suppliers of fruit grown in temperate climate. We are Europe's biggest supplier of apples, which makes us fourth in the world (after China, USA and Turkey). Poland is the only country in the EU where the apple farming trade is flourishing, growing in both plantations and potential.

hort-technika Out of all the countries of the EC, Poland is the biggest supplier of cherries, raspberries, currants and blueberries. We are also significant when it comes to producing strawberries, gooseberries and chokeberries. Poland is the fourth largest supplier of vegetable produce in the EU, surpassed only by Italy, Spain and France. Vegetable farming in Poland takes place in both open and covered fields. There are many types of vegetables successfully grown in Poland, but the most significant are cabbages, onions, tomatoes, carrots, beetroots and cucumbers.
