The five simultaneously-held infrastructure exhibitions - Autostrada-Polska, Maszbud, Traffic-Expo-Til, Rotra and EUROPARKING Exhibition, were the showcase for 418 companies and used over 30 12 thousand square meters of exhibition space. In 2017, the expo halls and the outdoor exhibition grounds were the display for 418 exhibitors from 20 countries from all corners of the world. The live demonstrations of road-construction machines generated an avid interest among the visitors.
Following the many-year tradition, the event's agenda included a whole array of problem-focussed meetings. One of the most important points of the programme was the debate under the banner of "Dialogue paves the way" organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction together with the signatories of the Road Industry White Paper. The debate recapitulated the developments which have taken place over the year since the publication of the White Paper. In the course of the event, Minister Szmit discussed the ministry's cooperation with the institutions'
and road construction associations' representatives as well as with the industry's entrepreneurs. He added that one of the results of the dialogue is "a deep change" in the contract templates used by contractors and the investor - the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.
The fourth edition of the Competition for Construction Machines Operators "BIG BAU MASTER" was truly exciting. For the first time in Poland, a woman took part in the competition of this kind - Natalia Śniadowska from Prądnik Korzkiewski.
The Autostrada-Polska expo is a living proof of how the construction industry has been changing. Innovative products, such as electric, wheeled loader and special road safety barriers designed to improve safety abounded on the expo stands. Visitors had the chance to find out how 3D printing supports this industry and whether robots are able to replace road workers.
