The Targi Kielce's jubilee PLASTPOL was held from 17 to 20 May; it all started with record-breaking exhibition space. 772 exhibitors, representatives of 32 countries, including Poland used the 7 halls and 32,000 square meters as the showcase for their products and services. The exhibition brought together 18,500 business insiders; thus the previous year's record has been broken.
The 20th International Fair of Plastics and Rubber Processing PLASTPOL has secured its position - it is one of the most important events at Europe's plastics processing and rubber business-sector. And although this year's jubilee PLASTPOL coincides with Germany's most popular trade show, Kielce expo brought together a significant representation of companies from Poland and abroad. PLASTPOL was also a magnet for crowds of visitors.
- We find PLASTPOL Central and Eastern Europe's most important trade fair. We have hosted lots of guests and signed really important contracts - said Ursula Steiner - Dopak CEO after the exhibition's end.
- We have already planned what to exhibit next year - says Zenon Narojek, the owner of Vadim Plast. - PLASTPOL is an unparalleled event, there is no other trade-show in Poland like this.
The largest group PLASPTPOL'S foreign exhibitors were, as usual German companies. Italians ranked second however there were many companies from Austria, Portugal, Turkey. The expo was the showcase to boast achievements and the latest developments. There were representations of France, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Czech Republic, Lithuania, the USA, China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, India and Mexico - this country has joined the expo for the first time. PLASTPOL is Poland's most international exhibition. Foreign companies or companies with foreign capital account for more than 50% of PLASTPOL exhibitors.
Machines working live, robots, complete production lines are Plastpol's hallmark. Machines capabilities presented in the flesh made the greatest impression on the visitors. More than 500 machines, nearly 1,000 tons of equipment were put on display in Targi Kielce's 7 exhibition halls. A space truck of German's Desma company was parked in the outdoor expo grounds - its futuristic shape captured the visitors' attention. Inside the truck there was a display of cutting-edge software used in this business-sector.
Jubilee - the pump and splendour
Plastpol's 20th anniversary was one of the expo's leitmotifs. There was much to remember - the trade show's beginnings date back to 1997 - half of one hall of 1500 square meters was used by 83 exhibitors. Not only did the Platinum Plast gala ceremony provide the chance to recognise innovative products and smartly arranged stands; it was also a great jubilee feast. The companies which have been involved in the expo creation ever since its first edition were also paid kudos. The distinctions were presented to Jan Krzysztof Muehsam of Muehsam, Zenon Narojek - the owner of Vadim Plast, Ursula Steiner - the Dopak CEO and Henryk Zawistowski - the Plastech Info conference founder and originator.
The jubilee statuettes were also awarded to companies that have placed their trust with the expo and have been a part of PLASTPOL for many years: Engel Austria GmbH, Elbi - Wroclaw, FCPK Bytów, Telko Poland, Ponar, Danja Polymer, ICHEMAD, Profarb, Institute for Engineering of Polymer Materials and Dyes from Torun, A. Marciniak Centre for Technology, Polimarky, Milar, A. Schulman Poland, Azoty Group, Arburg, Battenfeld Poland, Demag Plastics Group, P & F Wartacz, Bagsik. The institutions and research centres involved in expo organization were also presented tokens of gratitude.
A number of well-known companies also celebrated their anniversaries at Kielce's Plastpol. Wittmann Battenfeld celebrated the 40th anniversary. Vadim Plast was congratulated on its 35th anniversary. Sirmax celebrated its 15th jubilee at Plastpol.
Industry meeting, talks, seminars
There was yet another jubilee; May 16 - the day before Plastpol commenced marked an important gathering - the Targi Kielce Congress Centre hosted the industry conference organized by the Polish Union of Plastics Converters and the PlasticsEurope Polska Foundation. For the first time it was held in Kielce; previously the annual meeting was held in Warsaw. The session addressed the industry's most topical issues; the gathering brought together managers and presidents of Poland's largest and most important companies. Last year's results, innovations and forecasts were presented and discussed.
The Plastech Info technical seminar has become an indispensable part of Plastpol's 20- year history. This year's seminar was held under the banner of "Modern technologies and material solutions for plastics industry's efficiency". Plastpol saw a consecutive edition of PlasticsEurope Polska conference with the latest plastics processing industry's data for 2015.
The networking meetings organised by the Polish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Krakow, Honorary Consul of Germany was one of the expo highlights. The heads of companies, including a representative of Man from Munich attended the meeting. HE Isolde Felskau - the Deputy Consul General of Germany in Krakow graced the meeting with her presence. Tax and legal advice services for companies from Poland and Germany attracted an avid interest too.
PLASTPOL enjoyed a wide and extensive media coverage. From April to 20 May there were 235 press-releases in print, online and TV news broadcasts. The event hosted 63 journalists, not only from business-related press.
