PLASTPOL - one of Europe's best expos in plastics processing business sector. This year's expo was the showcase for over 800 exhibitors from 30 countries from all corners of the world; the exhibitors used 30 000 square meters as the showcase for their products and services. The event enjoyed the attendance of 18,000 business insiders.
The expo brought together representatives of all business sector groups - thus there distributors, material producers and machines manufacturers marked their presence at the event. The exhibition stands were the showcase for all kinds of machines and appliances used in plastic processing industry, tools and moulds, the whole variety of plastics and components, recycling technologies.
Not only was this a display of ready-made products, the companies put on show complete process lines and presented manufacturing processes. This year's Plastpol featured a truly special event - the PlasticsEurope press conference. The conference was the presentation platform for the latest data regarding Poland's companies' standing against the background of European plastics processing market. According to PlasticsEurope, Poland's plastics industry has been rapidly growing.
Since 2014 the demand for plastics has substantially increased, by more than 7.1% in 2014 compared to the previous year and thus exceeded 3.1 million tons. This figure corresponds to 6.5% of Europe's plastics consumption and thus puts Poland in sixth place in the ranking just after Germany, Italy, France, Spain and UK. This is one of the reasons for PLASTPOL exhibition space to grows bigger every year. 2015 edition ranks among the record-breaking events.
Not only was Plastpol a great opportunity to become familiar with the latest industry's offer and developments.
For a number of years the trade show has been the place to hold industry-focussed, substantive meetings and seminars . This year's exhibition's programme included, inter alia, The Open Technical Seminar PLASTECH – INFO held under the banner of "Plastics - Twenty-First Century Materials and Design", the brokerage meetings and Polish-German economic meeting. The best of the best earned awards and distinctions presented in the prestigious PlatinumPlast awarding ceremony. For six editions the expo has also encompassed the Omniplast - the contest of plastic processing knowledge. This year's laureates are: (III) Michał Łukawski, TELKO Poland, (II) Wacław Kocemba of OERLIKON and winner of the 2015 Omniplast title - Marcin Lewandowski of the WADIM PLAST.
